Amanda VandenBosch said this about his Blue Ribbon Fleece at the 2009 AFCNA Continental Fleece Show for med and dark silver Grey Juveniles “This fleece…Is excelling in the degree of fineness and the overall handle of the fleece… it has consistency across the fleece…. I am impressed with the overall evenness of micron and that in turn equates to softness of hand.”
His Dam, Kailee from Crescent Moon is one of our foundation females. He carries his Sire’s typey head – who is quite the award winner too!
He settled his first girl at just under 2 1/2 years. He produced a bay black female cria Oct 2011. She exhibits fine crimpy, bright fleece, and has a head like her daddy – full fleeced. She is Sassy!! And has won two blue ribbons herself in 2013 – 2014.
If you are looking for a very fine grey male, with excellent genetics, who exhibits fineness, consistency and crimp, and stamps his fine head and fleece style on his cria, consider Sterling Knight as your guy! Sterling Knights 2014 cria – Crimson Knight – is a handsome rose grey male.

A gentle full Peruvian huacaya male. Son of 6Peruvian Ninaya 5014 IMPR98. Ninaya was considered one of the top males imported from Peru by Dr. Julio Sumar. A gentle male, easy to handle. His Accoyo lineage is evident in his masculine head, body and fiber! He is tall, strong-boned and has a definite presence. O Solo Mio’s fiber has remained fine, crimpy, consistent and bright with a nice hand. His Accoyo lineage is evident in his masculine head, body and fiber.
He was under-utilized at his previous home, but is back in action! He has nicely bundled crimpy fleece, and holds his fineness into the years!
O Solo Mio has his sires head, and carries his well defined crimpy, tightly bundled fleece. His first cria is on the ground, and she carries finely bundled crimpy fleece (Opulent Pearl).
O Solo Mio has fiber that has retained much of its desirable characteristics and nice hand over the years. You can see that his fiber is still below 25 microns AFD! His spin-fineness in 2010 was 22.8. Any male who is able to maintain his fiber fineness over this many years is a truly valuable herdsire.
He also has three cria who exhibit his fine, high frequency, crimpy fleece (Dulcinia de Luz, Opulent Pearl and Solo’s Orion).
Note that at 9 years old, he is still only 25.5 microns, with >30 13.8! We do not have his earliest stats, but look at what he is producing even now! His cria’s micron are in the 13-15 micron range.

Medium Brown Male Huacaya – Proven
Maverick is an eye-catching male, with outstanding fleece coverage. He has presence and tends to be out in front when the herd is on the move. We expect great things from him, considering that his sire is Derwydd’s Accoyo Manchu. Manchu is an outstanding white herdsire who has won both Color Champion and Reserve Color Champion multiple times. With Crescent Moon’s Fantasie (a true black) as his dam, there is a wide range of color to work with.
Maverick has been described as a “fleece machine”. In 2014 his fleece weight we took off him was over 7 lbs of first and seconds. At three years of age his fleece is still under 25 microns. A judge described his fleece as having a “bold style” crimp. He has the shorter, wedge-shaped face that judges and breeders are looking for. He is VERY sweet-tempered, good-natured, very curious about people and will come right up to strangers. He’s the guy we take to all the social outings and educational programs as he is a very tolerant male.

White Male Huacaya – Unproven
Orion is letting us know he is ready for the girls! And he exhibits very fine, consistent fleece at 15.8 microns in 2013, and 18 microns at 2 years old. His fleece exhibits nice bundling with a tight crimp style. He will likely maintain his fine fleece throughout his life. His sire, O Solo Mio, has fleece under 25 microns at eight years of age! His dam, Camille of Sierra Rose (Bed Brown), has 19 micron fleece at five years of age. There is no reason to expect that he will not pass his fine micron counts on to his cria when bred to a fine-fleeced female. If you are looking for fineness that lasts through the years, both of Orion’s parents have done just that!
He is shy around people and walks well on a lead. Orion thinks he is ready to breed now, and we think he has great promise as a herdsire. We look forward to putting this boy to stud.
AFD 2013: 15.8 microns
AFD 2014: 18 microns >30 microns 0.9 AFD 2015: 20.1; 4.3; 21.3; 2.0
This Medium Fawn boy turns heads wherever he goes. He has the wedge-shaped face that judges and discriminating buyers are looking for. He produces a massive fleece with a very bold crimp style. His first shearing, yielded a staple length of four inches! He is truly a junior “fleece machine” and at almost 2 years has a micron count of less than 19. His sire, Silver Rose Sentinel, is a multiple ribbon and award winner. His Dam, Penelope, at six years of age, still has fleece less than 25 microns.
He has a year or two before we will see what kind of crias he can produce, but he definitely bears watching. Above is Sundance (left) with his BFF’s – we call them The Three Amigos.
